DHL UAE takes DQA GOLD

DHL UAE, the Emirates’ leading air express supplier, has scooped gold in the Dubai Quality Award 2001 honours officially recognising the company as providing excellence in services.

David Wild receives DQA gold award from HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE Defence Minister and Crown Prince of Dubai

“This is a tribute to our staff and our customers whose increasing demands for service quality lead us to continually innovate,” said David Wild, General Manager, DHL UAE, who received the award at the DQA ceremony from His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister.

This is the second DQA recognition DHL UAE has been awarded in the past seven years. In 1994 it took the DQA award for the services sector.

“Our commitment to excellence has never wavered and we are consistently engineering service improvements, through staged investment, training and product creation,” said Wild.

“Since DHL began operations in the Emirates in 1976, we have always recognised the needs of our customers and the associated quality issues. We acknowledge the responsibility we have to customers and employees by ensuring long-term business success through planned, profitable growth and reinvestment of earnings. Reinvestment over past years has significantly improved the quality of DHL products and services available in the UAE.

“The distribution of shipments is faster, smoother and more efficient. As demand for speed increases, innovative technological advances have given us new ways of meeting with demand for industries where every second counts. The state-of-the-art equipment and procedures that we have put in place ensure our customers enjoy the highest level of service satisfaction.”

DHL UAE, now in its 26th year of operation, was the first air express company to operate in the Emirates. From a small office in Sharjah it has grown and now has five sort centres and five express centres throughout the UAE. The company, which was also the first organisation in the Middle East to be certified to ISO 14001 environmental management standards, now has over 300 employees from 15 nationalities.
