ABU DHABI SHIP BUILDING

A major shipbuilding and ship repair company in Abu Dhabi, seeks the following qualified personnel for its Shipyard in Mussafah. Candidates for these positions must meet the following requirements.

 

Ref:NGQ-001

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Basic knowledge of the various trade operations in Shipbuilding and minimum of 5 years experience in Shipbuilding.

  • Experience and knowledge in the use of MS Office and Excel. Ability to use AutoCAD would be a plus.

  • Ability to read and understand shipbuilding drawings and technical manuals.

  • Ability to write technical specifications for shipboard electrical components, including main switchboards, distribution boards, switch panels, cables, diesel generators and bridge consoles.

  • Develop a bill of materials for Procurement of shipboard electrical components. Ability to assist test engineers and production electricians during the commissioning and testing of shipboard electrical components.

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE DRAFTSMAN / STEEL DETAILER

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Naval Architecture Drafting for Shipbuilding Design.

  • Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD 14 or AutoCAD LT. Also experience in MS Office and Excel.

  • Ability to develop detailed drawings of steel piece parts based from design drawings. Also develop hull drawings based on input from Naval Architects and Production Supervisors.

  • Familiarity with classification society regulations would be a plus.

PLANNERS / SCHEDULERS - 5 Nos.

  • College Graduate with a Degree in Business Administration or Engineering, or Graduate of a Certified Apprentice Program in shipbuilding and 5 years experience in shipbuilding planning.

  • Will be involved in the development of strategic / long range planning for the company such as production plan, delivery schedules, key event schedules, build strategy methods, and budget schedules for shipbuilding and repair.

  • Knowledge of detail planning and progress monitoring of various phases of shipbuilding and repair.

  • Must have experience and knowledge in use of Microsoft Office and knowledge of Microsoft project is desired.

BUYERS / SR. BUYERS - 5 Nos.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Buyer in a major shipyard.

  • Business or Engineering Degree preferred.

  • Must have knowledge of shipbuilding materials & practices.

  • Project buying experience of major ship components and systems.

  • Experience in material sourcing in South East Asia, Far East & Western Europe.

  • Strong RFQ preparing, negotiating, cost analysing and evaluating skills.

  • Computer literate, e-commerce experience a plus.

  • Fluency in commercial terms (T & Cs, LOCs, INCOTERMS) and technical standards (DIN, EU, JIS, ASTM, ASME).

EXPEDITORS - 2 Nos.

  • Business or Engineering Degree preferred, with minimum 5 years of experience.

  • Good knowledge of shipbuilding / marine materials.

  • Expediting materials delivery with overseas suppliers.

  • Coordinate material issues with production personnel and local suppliers.

  • Computer literate and fluency in English a must.

  • Valid UAE driving license.

FINANCIAL REPORTING SUPERVISOR

  • Must be a degreed Accountant and Certified Public Accountant with 5 years experience in all area of accounting.

  • Must be familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), international accounting standards, an all aspects of financial reporting. Must also be able to interface with  outside audit firms and coordinate YE Audit work for a public company.

  • Must have good analytical skills and ability to formulate effective presentations of prime importance.

  • Must be proficient in use of personal computers and familiar with MS Office software.

FINANCIAL ANALYST

  • Must be a degreed Accountant with 3 years experience.

  • Must have good analytical skills and the ability to formulate and produce effective reports.

  • Will be responsible for hands-on running of a direct deposit payroll for up to 1,000 employees using an hourly rate based pay scheme

  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English and the use of IBM compatible personal computers using MS Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and progress.

ACCOUNTING CLERK

  • Must have some college level training plus minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting related capacity.

  • Must have knowledge and experience with double entry accounting systems.

  • Will work with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing and financial reporting.

  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English and use of IBM compatible personal computers and familiar with MS Office software.

SECRETARIES - 3 Nos.

  • Should have 5 years experience and completion of secretarial courses or equivalent.

  • Responsible for handling day to day filing and typing of correspondence and reports for managers.

  • Must be able to work without close supervision and provide secretarial services to one or more managers or supervisors.

  • Contacting outside vendors and other business as needed.

  • Must be able to work with travel agents, arranging travel for managers and workforce for business travel and vacations.

  • Maintain confidential reports and files for managers.

  • Must have good communication skills, typing speed 50 WPM and have good computer knowledge, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Schedule, PowerPoint and other office software.

QUALITY CONTROL PIPE AND COMPONENT INSTALLATION INSPECTOR

  • Minimum of five years experience in pipe and shipboard component installation and inspection in Marine New Construction or Commercial Ship Repair.

  • Experience in reading and understanding complex ship construction drawing, sketches and documents associated with fabrication and installation of components.

  • Ability to perform accuracy control audits and document findings.

  • Ability to understand weld symbols, shapes, datum lines, reference lines, comprehend basic math.

  • Ability to reference Regulatory Body Rules.

QUALITY CONTROL STRUCTURAL FABRICATION  INSPECTOR

  • Minimum of five years experience as an inspector in Marine Structural shipbuilding applications

  • Ability to read and understand complex ship construction drawing, sketches and documents associated with fabrication application.

  • Ability to perform accuracy control audits and document findings.

  • Ability to understand weld symbols, shapes, datum lines, reference lines, comprehend basic math.

  • Ability to reference Regulatory Body Rules is verified if requirements are being followed.

QUALITY CONTROL MARINE PAINT  INSPECTOR

  • Minimum of five years experience as a Marine QC paint inspector in new construction or commercial ship repair.

  • Daily logging of environmental conditions.

  • Able to carry out dry docking inspection with owner or paint representative.

  • Follow paint specifications and check paint deliveries.

  • Carry out surface preparation inspection with paint representative.

  • Conduct dry and wet paint film readings and documents.

  • Carry out final inspection with owner and paint representative.

  • Able to calibrate and use inspection equipment.

  • Communicate with the owner and paint representative in English.

  • Ability to write application procedures, work instructions and maintain documentation in accordance with specification / contractual requirements.

QUALITY CONTROL NDT TECHNICIAN

  • Minimum of five years experience in NDT inspection of structural welds in new construction or commercial ship repair.

  • Minimum level one ASNT Certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection.

  • Able to record and file documented results of inspection.

  • Communicate in English

  • Ability to carry out inspection in accordance with specification / contractual requirements.
