Bahman International cargo: Enriching business in Kuwait


Bahman Int’l Cargo–– established in 1987 in Kuwait, consists of six major divisions, including air-freight, shipping, logistics, ground handling, general sales agencies and transportation. The company is involved in consignee selling and rendering cost effective services to in-house and other commercial entities with the help of its worldwide associates in more than 295 cities in 98 countries. Bahman International Cargo aims at promoting and developing business to Kuwait, which is a buyer’s market, and to share technical know-how with developed and advanced countries of the world. Europe is the major market and covers 60% of imports into Kuwait. Bahman International Cargo, as GSA of Cargolux Airlines International has its share of the market, operating four flights a week from Luxembourg and handling self-documentation for its valuable customers.

The total volume of cargo handled by the carrier in 2001 was 5551.3 tonnes while in 2002, the carrier hopes to exceed 6900 tonnes. Currently, Bahman Int’l Cargo is handling ground activity in Iran.

Freightworks manages to upload a total average volume of 160 million kgs, out of which airfreight volume is around 16 million kgs. This level of activity applies to a broad range of customer industries and blue chip clients, whose requirement has taken the company’s service levels to greater heights. The company operates under the Balanced Scorecard Programme whereby customer expectations are reviewed periodically and met with enhanced performance.
