Dubai:
Details about Dubai's proposed
elevated railway project will be unveiled at the
upcoming Gulf Traffic Convention between October 26 and
29 in Dubai, alongside Gulf Traffic 2002, the exhibition
for the transportation sector. The event will focus on
the future of mass transit in the region. It will
include a joint presentation on the ambitious project
from Dr Abdelgader Elshabani, Transportation Planning
Specialist, Dubai Municipality, UAE, and Kenneth Sislak,
Vice-President, Director of Public Transport at
international consultancy Wilbur Smith Associates (WSA),
a leading international consulting firm, which is among
the event's sponsors. Dubai has recently announced its
intention to create a railway system to combat road
traffic, which is estimated to triple by 2017.
