TRIDENT FREIGHT APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER


MADHAV KURUP

Madhav Kurup has been promoted to become the new General Manager for Trident Freight-the International Forwarding arm of RHS Group, exclusively representing Gelogistics Corporation. A 33 year old Master in Commerce who started his Career in 1994 as Management Trainee with a leading shipping company in India later moved on to Schlumberger Integrated Project Management team as Integrated Logistics Manager before joining Trident Freight. He has been instrumental in turning around the company over the last two years through focused re- structuring and designing Customised products.

MMI LOGISTICS APPOINTS NEW PROJECT MANAGER

Anirudh Kumar who joined MMI Logistics in July 2001 has been appointed as the company’s new Project Manager - Supply Chain Systems, a dedicated Information Systems (IS) resource for their logistics operations.

An Electronics Engineer with an MBA degree and over 16 years of experience, Anirudh will work closely with the Logistics Business team to assess the future business needs, identify and implement IT solutions to be able to support future business requirement of in-house users and customers. 

   

He ensures that current infrastructure is running and is optimally utilized. Some of the plans in pipeline are to expand the offering to customers to enable electronic linkage of the WMS services to the client systems through the Web, Dial-in   Access, Standard   online   Interface   and file uploads etc., thereby facilitate the decision-making process by providing accurate, relevant and timely information.

FedEx Appoints New Country Manager for Bahrain

Federal Express Corp., the world’s largest express transportation company has announced the appointment of Jim Walsh to the position of Country Manager for Bahrain.

Jim Walsh, the new Country Manager for FedEx in Bahrain.  

Walsh is no stranger to FedEx after having worked for the Company for 10 years in the UK and throughout the Middle East.  In fact, Walsh was responsible for developing the FedEx operations in Bahrain in 1989.

In his new role, Walsh will oversee all aspects of FedEx operations in Bahrain, and will work towards achieving the company’s mission of becoming the preferred supplier of international express box shipments.  

“I am thrilled to be returning to FedEx and to Bahrain,” commented Walsh.  “My aim is to continue delivering the world-class service FedEx customers have come to rely on.”

KAHIANYU TAKES UP MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS REINS AT DHL UAE

 

DHL Worldwide Express, the Emirates’ leading air express player, has
appointed
Pauline Kahianyu as its Marketing Communications Manager for the UAE.

Thirty-one-year-old Kahianyu moves into the post from a previous role as Territory Manager at DHL UAE.She holds an advanced certification from the UK’s Chartered Institute of Marketing, and brings with her vast experience in sales and marketing having worked in the UK and UAE hospitality industry.

“This new appointment is in line with our expansion of services in the Emirates”, said David Wild, General Manager, DHL UAE.

Ethiopian Airways has appointed Saleem Ahmed Kashmiri as its new ‘Manager Cargo’. Heading the airlines’ cargo office at Dubai Cargo Village he will be responsible for Ethiopian’s Cargo Sales & Marketing activities and will be working towards growth of cargo from this sector.

Kashmiri has been associated with the airline industry for over 24 years now. He has earlier served Ethiopian Airlines for 11years wherein he was a Station -in-charge and was involved in Cargo activities as well, before taking a break in between, when he worked with a private Pakistani Airline. Joining Ethiopian Airlines once again after a gap of 5 years is a reunion for him.

Saudi Arabia : The board of National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) has appointed Ziyad Fahad Al-Dugaither as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Al-Dugaither replaced the previous CEO, Abdulla Al-Shuraim, in late October.
