South Africa’s Department of Trade and Industry invited selected international buyers from Dubai, Oman, Bahrain and Egypt on an "inward buying mission" for the Gardenex & Growtech floriculture exhibition in Johannesburg. According to Ms Louw, the organizer of the event, these buyers are looking at all the aspects of the industry. This constitutes a powerful tool for the green industry to boost international trade and attracts possible investment for the industry. The current demand of 80 tons of flowers to Dubai every week can increase to 240 tons three times a week to meet the demand of the proposed horticultural distribution center in Dubai.
