Bahrain has taken a major step towards helping to forge the unified GCC customs union. A law by decree approving the GCC unified Customs tariffs system and cancelling the Customs tariffs law of 1950 and related amendments has been issued

Investment guarantee in Syria

Syria has become the 156^th member of the Washington-based Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (Miga). Foreign investors looking to do business in the country are now eligible for the agency’s guarantee coverage, which covers transfer restriction, expropriation, breach of contract, war and civil disturbance. Syria companies planning to invest outside the country are also eligible for coverage.
