Yemen and Japan sign draft agreement for 19 water projects

A draft agreement for 19 water projects to be implemented in the Yemen, with financial aid from the Japanese government, was signed by the Yemeni Minister of Water and Environment Abdulrahman Al-Eryani and the Leader of Water Sources and Disasters Prevention Team at the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Shinichi Masuda, on Tuesday.

The water projects, which would cost about US$16 million within the general Japanese grant with contribution of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects, are to be carried out in the rural areas in governorates of Sana'a, Taiz, Dhamar, Mahweet, and Ibb, according to official sources.
