Resort airports opened up for Arab flights

Tourism experts have welcomed the recent announcement by Egypt’s civil aviation ministry that all Arab and Egyptian airlines will be allowed to operate scheduled and non-scheduled flights from Arab airports to all international Egyptian airports, except Cairo. The move is part of a major drive to open up the sector. Requests from airlines to operate new services to the eligible Egyptian airports are being received from July 1, 2002.

S. Arabian Airlines launches flight training facility

The Saudi Arabian Airlines has launched a new flight training facility the “Prince Sultan Academy for Aviation Science.” The specialised training facility, unique in the Middle East, will be built on an area of 29,643 square meters and will have a building for flight training and another facility for safety training. It will have simulators, high-tech class rooms for theory and practical training, CPTs, aircraft cabins, evacuation equipment, control rooms and other computerised aviation related systems.
