Dubai International Airport awarded world’s leading airport for 2nd consecutive year

Anita Mehra Homayoun, Director - Marketing & Corporate Communications, Dubai Civil Aviation (DCA) receives the World Travel Awards for the World’s Leading Airport from Noel Lynch, Minister of Tourism and Transport, Barbados.

Dubai International Airport consolidated its status as the leading airport not just in the region but also in the world. The 10th World Travel Awards announced in New York this year saw Dubai International Airport bag two awards – Middle East’s Leading Airport for the sixth time in succession since 1998, and World’s Leading Airport for the second consecutive year. The award was received by Anita Mehra Homayoun in London

during the annual World Travel Market exhibition.
HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Department of Civil Aviation, Chairman of Emirates Group, commented: "Our vision is to have a world class airport which will sustain Dubai’s growth as the aviation hub of the Middle East in the years to come. The World Travel Award reiterates the challenges that we have to meet by maintaining and ensuring delivery of the highest standards of service at all time. Travellers’ comfort and satisfaction is always a central commitment of the Department of Civil Aviation."
To date Dubai International Airport has won seven awards in 2003.
