Menzies Aviation Group (MAG) has signed a franchise agreement with Airlink Cargo International (ACI) in Johannesburg to become its exclusive partner in southern Africa.Under the new identity of Menzies ACI, the company will actively look for cargo, passenger and ramp handling development opportunities throughout South Africa and the southern Africa region.
The agreement between the two companies is another significant step forward in Menzies’ strategy to increase its global footprint through franchise partnerships, particularly targeting developing markets in Africa, Asia, Central and South America and Eastern Europe.
ACI Airlink Cargo International is one of the most highly respected handling organisations in South Africa.

Established since 1992, it has customs-approved warehouses at Johannesburg International Airport and Durban International Airport and a large airline customer base.
John Dickson, Managing Director of ACI and a leading figurehead in the African aviation industry, said: “This is an agreement that supports the objectives of both organisations and will ultimately see Menzies ACI providing high quality handling services for airlines serving airports across southern Africa.”
“The shareholders of both companies are ambitious and committed to building a strong presence in this fast-growing region. We believe there are a large number of airports in southern Africa that will recognise the value of a Menzies ACI operation in terms of improving the quality of service

provided for existing airline customers and helping to attract new carriers,” he added.
“Awarding franchise agreements enables us to leverage the power of Menzies’ global brand and means we can grow our network in developing markets in a fast and cost efficient way. We are looking for businesses operating in countries that are attractive to MAG politically, economically and culturally. They must be financially sound with a proven management team and a strong local presence in their market,”stated Forsyth Black, Business Development Manager at MAG.
Menzies Aviation Group provides ground handling; cargo logistics and aviation support services at some 90 airports in more than 20 countries and serves more than 500 aviation customers worldwide..
