Air Partner offers ‘no deposit and free cancellation’specials

In response to nervousness in the UK about making group travel arrangements as the Iraq crisis continues, the market leader for aircraft charters, Air Partner plc, has introduced a special deal to overcome the current dip in confidence.

Corporate clients who are considering chartering for events this summer and autumn can now book aircraft on a no - deposit basis

and if any have to be abandoned, cancellation
charges will be waived. The move is aimed at addressing the concern that incentive travel, meetings and events industry clients have that by booking now and planning ahead they may incur costs if circumstances change nearer the date.

For a limited period, whilst hostilities continue, clients can freely contract and freely abandon a booking completely without penalty, up to just six weeks prior to the flight, at which time they will be asked to decide if they want their programmes to go ahead on fully committed terms. The deal is managed from the UK offices and available on selected airlines, on all but peak dates.

Air Partner group managing director David Savile commented: "We are the world’s largest reseller of aircraft charter, and when a market stumbles, we feel obligated to do something to give it a hand up. In time, the confidence will return naturally; until then we believe this incentive will help restore business levels”.

Safair helps translocate Black Rhinos to Zambia

Safair recently helped the SANParks Game Capture Team translocates five rare black rhinos to the Luagwa National Park in North East Zambia.

After loading into crates at 03:00 in the morning at the research bomas near Skukuza, the animals were transported by truck to the Kruger Mpumalanga.

International Airport (KMIA) where the crates were loaded onto a Safair Lockheed Hercules transport aircraft.

The aircraft flew directly to an airstrip in Zambia, a flying time of around three and a half hours. Josias Chabani, the Acting Director of the Kruger National Park said: "It is our absolute pleasure to be sending these animals to our colleagues in Zambia. We do this in the spirit of Africanism and to
further the aims and objectives of NEPAD, because the presence of these rhinos in Zambia will undoubtedly increase their tourism business and hence the country's economy."

Says the chief veterinarian and head of the SANParks Game Capture Team, Dr Markus Hofmeyr, the operation had to go smoothly and as quickly as possible to minimise stress on the animals. "Animals are tranquillised during a journey of this nature to stop them hurting themselves in transit," he explained.

Black rhinos weigh around 850 kg and stand around 160 cm. They are still rated as endangered by CITES. Kruger's black rhino population stands at around 400.
